Well the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the Man of Steel sequel could arrive as soon as next year! You may recall last week I talked about the WB fast tracking the sequel and Justice League. My big question was if both movies would hit in the same year or if Justice League would get pushed back since a 2014 release would be difficult. Well it looks like WB is going to put all their profits from this film back into the sequel in order to get it out next year. I can’t say that I dislike this strategy since I think the huge gaps in time give the stars enough time to grow tired of the role. The problem is that Cavill just took Tom Cruises role on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and so it will be interesting to see if he has to drop out of that film as well. It is a little scary that they’re moving ahead so quickly since that doesn’t guarantee quality by any means. If the WB really wants to stay in this game they need to learn to pre-plan their productions and not just wait to see how the last film did.
