Image Shows Marvel How Lame Their Marketing Campaign Was

I don't know what it is, but Image seems to be the only company that gets away with making fun of Marvel. If DC does it, Marvel fires back instantly. Hell, Marvel fires back instantly at DC's marketing even if it has nothing to do with them (see really stupid Deadpool cover). So yeah, it's good to see a company take jabs at Marvel. Frankly I've found Marvel's marketing to be dry and boring over the past year and hope that something better comes from all these sharp daggers. I also hope that DC nuts up and goes for the jugular as well.

PR: Oni Press Passes The Marketing Torch

It is with both optimism and sadness that Oni Press announces the departure of a longtime employee and the addition of two new members to its sales and marketing team.

Thomas Shimmin and Amber LaPraim are taking joint positions as Marketing Coordinator, while the current Director of Marketing, Cory Casoni, is leaving Oni Press to consult for NAMCO BANDAI Games, Inc. as the Head of Marketing for ShiftyLook.

Casoni joined Oni Press in 2008. Prior to becoming part of the company he had been manufacturing T-shirts for Oni Press, including the well-known Scott Pilgrim limited edition shirts. Casoni was the first hire in a series that led to the current complement of employees now at Oni Press.

Disney Takes Over Marvel's Marketing With The Avengers

Recently Deadline Hollywood reported that Disney was restructuring Marvel Studios, the film division of Marvel Comics. They knocked out three highly paid position which I'm sure will look great for their stock prices. What are the positions and who are the people? Who cares because you never knew they were there to begin with. Disney is officially taking control of Marvel Studios marketing which is probably for the best if anyone saw Thor and Captain America and wondered what the hell the marketing departments were thinking. Their kick off to the summer movie hype machine happened over the weekend at D23 which brought all the big name, budget sucking stars together to begin the year of promoting they'll all have to do now.
