Maken-Ki Anime Launches New Teaser Website!

I was wondering if this was ever going to return as an Anime. I watched the first season? OVA? Whatever, and it was good up until the point that they completely deviated from the Manga and began cherry picking shit that didn't make sense. Everyone keeps calling this a reboot, which means that the series could be restarting completely and might end up being truer to the Manga. I have high hopes, at the very least it's coming back and that's better than nothing.

Possible Haganai Live Action Movie In The Works

Updated on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 12:42PM by Registered CommenterDustin Cabeal

It's possible that no one else will give a damn about this with the exception of me, but there is a possible Haganai (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai) live action film in the works. Ryukoku University in Kyoto posted an extra's casting call for the film, but didn't say anything about the light novel's turned managa, turned anime's being tied to the film. I hopefully since it's going to be a long ass time before the cartoon returns, unless they decide to plug along without the source material which is doubtful.

Review: Brody’s Ghost – Book 4

If you follow Mark Crilley on Youtube (which is possible considering he has over a million subscribers) then please help me petition him to finish this series tomorrow… yes tomorrow. I was left with so much anxiety from this issue that I’m very impatient for the next volume… but this was an awesome addition to the already thrilling story of the Penny Murderer.

There’s going to be minor spoilers from the last issue and this issue, but honestly if you’re trying to read this review and haven’t read the first three books I’d have to wonder why? Seriously, go buy the books they’re affordable in print and digital so no excuses!

In the last issue Brody learned two major things. The first being that his ex-girlfriend is going to be the next victim of the Penny Murderer and that Talia, the ghost that set him on the path of finding the killer has been lying to him about her intentions on the case. Brody sits at an outdoor café by himself waiting for Talia to show herself. When she does he growls at her to follow him; he heads into the men’s bathroom and after checking that its clear lays into Talia.

Review: Blood-C – Vol. 1

I’ve never really gotten into the Blood series before. I don’t know if it was the material or the fan base’s rabid lust for it that put me off, but I decided to give Blood-C a chance. It didn’t hurt that the main character had an awesome design and that it was a first volume either. The good thing about this series is that it didn’t rely on me having past knowledge of the series and while I’m sure there are some tips of the hat moments to the original, I was able to start completely fresh with this volume and not be lost.

The main character of our story is Saya, a teenage girl that lives at the local shrine with her father. She’s probably one of the cutest Manga characters I’ve encounter in recent years as she has several classic personality traits of the medium: she’s clumsy, good-hearted and easily distracted. This pretty much assures that she’s late to school every single day as one of the three traits will interfere with her along the way. As her father encourages her to head to school she forgets to eat breakfast. The shop owner next door to the shrine, Fumito, forces her to sit down and eat quickly while he grabs her lunch for her as well. He acts very much like her mother giving her food and sending her on her way. Fumito as we learn later, is old friends with her father, but it’s clear that there is more to the man then the simple explanation we’re given.

Hiroaki Samura's New Series Tatazumeru Snegurochka Hits In May

I know that until it's either brought to our shores or finds its way illegally scanned and translated, this news doesn't really matter to anyone other than fans like me that loved Blade of the Immortal. Tatazumero Snegurochka from Hiroaki Samura is scheduled to premiere in Manga Erotics F Magazine this May.

The story takes place in 1920's Russia is about a woman named Bielka and her "attendant" named Shishenok. They apparently can only trust each other. I wish I had more to give you, but I don't. The art looks good though!

PR: Happinet Corp Releases Two Manga 2.5 Titles on iTunes

Manga 2.5 can closely be compared to a motion comic book, but of a better quality. After checking out the trailer comparision on their site I am curious to see it in play, but I wasn't crazy about the voice acting. It's interesting though so I may pick up a copy to see what it's like.

Press Release:

Happinet Corporation, a comprehensive entertainment trading company of toys, visual and music software, video games, and amusement products in Japan, and Inception Media Group, LLC, a diversified media company specializing in the production, acquisition and distribution of filmed entertainment, today announced the launch of HAPPINET's newly created Manga2.5 digital media format, which is now available exclusively on the iTunes Store: www.itunes.com. Manga2.5 is the first-ever high-definition English-language "motion comic" made from traditional Japanese manga.

Summer Wars Manga Confirmed For Two Volumes

If you've never watched Summer Wars you should do yourself a favor and pick it up on Bluray or if you have to... DVD. If you have watched the film then like me you're probably excited that Vertical has confirmed that they'll be collecting the Manga for America/English speaking countries. The series will be collected in two volumes, each clocking in at 300 pages.

Now this is not the Manga the film was based off, but rather the Manga that came from the film. A little backwards from the usual, but that's why I'm interested in it. Often times we read first watch later and are disappointed even later after that, but here it is in reverse. The first volume ships in October and the second follows in December so we have some time to wait unfortunately.
