DC Declares June 12th Man of Steel Day

People worry that comic shops will go extinct one day, but I think there's always going to be hold outs no matter what. Why? Because of things like FCBD (Though I agree with Ken Eppstein of Nix Comics and it should just be Comic Book day) and things like Man of Steel day.

If you go to your participating comic book shop on Wednesday, June 12, then you'll receive a free special edition of Action Comics #1 and will also be able to purchase the first issue of Superman: Unchained as well. I know at this point basically everyone owns a copy of the new Action Comics, but consider this: Marvel gave away the first Ultimate Spider-Man for FCBD so many times that eventually the first prints of the FCBD edition actual have a value now. Yeah, a free issue is worth money.

That's not the only reason you should go as DC/WB is sending promotional posters and bags to shops and it will also be the first day to pick up some of the grotesque action figures they've created for the film. DC even has you covered if you're a digital fan too, but fuck that shit you can look it up on your own.

New Man of Steel Posters Are All About Flight

 

Over the weekend, Serg posted two new Man of Steel posters on our Instagram feed and of course we want to share that with as many people as possible so here they are on the main site. Frankly, I'm not wowed by either of them, but gun to the head I'd pick the top one.

Not only is it intentional blurry, but there's lense flair? What the fuck. That poster is X-Men First Class wheelchair bad. Maybe it's just me, but DC/WB needs help marketing their superhero flicks because this sucks. I still want to see the movie, but if I was an average person looking at this I would think that they were following up Superman Returns with something even worse.

Unofficial Title Sequence for The Man of Steel Is Pretty Cool

Get this man or woman a job! I was actually very impressed with the construction of this title sequence. It was simple and yet gave a ton of back story for the character that wouldn't need to be recapped through a Zack Snyder montage. Check it out after the jump and decide for yourself, but I would totally see the movie that accompanies that sequence.

Man of Steel Meets Superman Animated Adventures

Not too bad considering the limited resources, but unlike the Batman trailer in the same vein, this actually makes the movie less interesting. I guess that's good though as the hype is lowered and reminds us that Snyder is a visual director and that's about it.

Third Man of Steel Trailer Hits - Get Hyped!

Warner Bros. just released the third Man of Steel trailer. I'm still a bit skeptical of getting too excited but I will say, this trailer makes it damn hard not to. The trailer starts with an awesome few seconds where we're treated to a look at some of Krypton's last hour. Snyder is doing a hell of a job, lasers fly, things explode and Jor-El looks appropriately downtrodden. We get some more of Clark questioning who he is and his place in the world, "Can't I just be your son?" and finally get to see Zod in all his glory. We also get a few delicious glimpses at the action we'll be treated to when Man of Steel drops on June 14th, and it is spectacular. Here's hoping this turns out to be the Superman film we've been wanting to see all these years as it certainly looks promising. Trailer after the jump.

This Is The Worst Thing I've Watched All Day - Man of Steel Attempts to Go Viral

The only thing this succeeded in doing was specifically make me talk about it. Any attempts at going viral were a total fail as it is possibly the most frustrating video to watch ever.
