PR: Nix Comics At The Columbus Ohio Independents' Day Fair

Well some of you may not be anywhere near Columbus, but if you are you should stop by and check out NIX Comics booth in person.

Independents Day, whose mission is to celebrate and develop independent culture, commerce and creativity with an annual street fair in Downtown Columbus, has introduced a local writer’s fair as part of its Saturday, September 15^th, 2012 festivities.

Conscious of both the deep provenance has Columbus as a center for cartoonists dating as far back as James Thurber and Milton Caniff, as well as our city’s current community of prolific creators, Independence Day organizers asked me, in my capacity as a local comics publisher, to organize a table at theWriters Fair to showcase local comic book writers.

To that end, I have organized a table from the full spectrum of publishing: Inexperienced but earnest DIYers to successful big names in the industry.  Each comic creator will have the table to meet and greet the Columbus Public for an hour.

Indie Comics Table Schedule:

11:00-12:00	Michael Neno; Xeric Award winning Creator of The Signifiers, The Mesh and Quacky Pig!
12:00-1:00	Victor Dandridge; The driving force behind Columbus's innovative Vantage Inhouse Productions.
1:00-2:00	Brenda Kirk; Mini Comics creator, painter, t-shirt designer, blogger...  Basically awesome DIY everything!
2:00-3:00	Jeff Smith; The Big Babboo of self publishing in Columbus!  Creator of the terrific Bone and RASL comics!
3:00-4:00	Tony Goins; Writer for the Lovecraftian detective series Downs, and contributor to the local Panel Comix collaborative anthologies.
4:00-5:00	Max Ink; Artist, writer and creator for the Columbus-centric Blink series of minis and graphic novels.
5:00-6:00	Will Tooker; Terror-ific writer of such ghastly tales as Spirits In the Well and Grandfather bones for Creephouse Comics.

In addition to this Indie Comics Table, Local publishers Nix Comics and 2 Headed Monster Comics will be present in Independents Day Craft Alley.  Independents Day will be held in Downtown Columbus, Ohio on September 15, 2012 from 11:00am to Midnight.  The Writers Fair will be active from 11:00am to 6:00pm.
