Review: Archie #630—Archie Meets Kiss

The four issue mini series comes to a close right here.  Veronica had tried to cast a protectionspell but invoked some nasty monsters that have turned most of Riverdale intozombies.  Luckily, some good camethrough the spell: The greatest arena rock band ever—Kiss.

Luckily, Sabrina the (uber-hot) teenage witch has beenweaving her magic to protect Archie and crew.  The gang needs to reclaim the Dynasty Amulet from themonsters.

Kiss can save the day with their music, but the monsterssteal their beat.  Will Archie winout, or will this comic go zombie and be written by Robert Kirkman adinfinitum?  You will have to pick this one up.

I included the alternative cover for this issue because Iwant you to buy the comic for that alone. If you look closely at the blank stares of the teenagers at the cover,you will get the heebie-jeebies.  Iwant to frame this comic for that very reason.  No joking—it is haunting.

This has been a fun comic to follow.  Although the four issues felt spreadthin, this issue provides great closure and good fun.

Normally I wouldn’t reach for an Archie comic, but the Kissappearance earned my money.  As abonus to the comic book version of Gene, Paul, Ace, and Peter, I got a greatdose of fun.
