One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other
Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 7:10PM I was told that I was completely wrong about this logo so let's play a game Sesame Street style shall we? If you don't know the game it's where you find the one that doesn't match the others and I swear if you pick the one in the middle I will scream.
Also I was told the basics of business which were very basic and sounded more like the description of goals for a mega conglomerate than a business. When I go into my favorite local restaurant Bea Bea's I doubt their business plan includes selling video games. I know someone will yell, "APPLES AND ORANGES!", but look no further than Image Comics' business plan for a simple alternative to shilling your product in every market that isn't a comic book in order to survive as a business. What I don't get is why DC and Marvel need to rely on movies and action figures to keep afloat... but hey, I don't understand business. (Just kidding I totally do and probably better than the person who "schooled" me in the comments with his Business .001 class.)
At any rate the new DC logo is official and the bulk of the comments are negative on their Google+ page. Anyone that says, "it's simple and iconic" obviously took a first year design class and had the assignment of redesigning a corporate logo to be simple and iconic. Not that I ever had to do such a think.

Good comeback.
Actually where the one in the middle differs from the two DC logos is that if you remove the word "paper" from it you could still have a pretty good guess at what there company actually does. Neither of those DC logos say "we make comics" without the additional type.
Does anyone else think it's a little retarded that because DC stands for Detective Comics the logo on the left actually says "Detective Comics Comics"? 'Cos I sure do.
Man, Dustin you love to hate this logo!! :D But real talk, it's pretty shitty.
