This Is Happening: Weird Punisher, Spider-Man and Daredevil Thingy
Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 1:30PM Is Marvel doing Marvel Knights again? That's what this reminds me of, but atlas no they are not. Marvel held a big press conference about Avenging Spider-Man (I love how they had to specify), Daredevil and Punisher having a cross over. Frankly I was too bored to be bothered with what I read to recap it here. I will tell you that it is called "The Omega Effect" and that no matter what they say it will have no consequences to the Marvel U or the three characters involved. Point in case, remember last year when Daredevil was crazy and everyone was attacking him? Well I guess it's forgive and forget. Remember when Punisher was turned into Frankenstein? Well he got better. Remember when Spider-Man was married... oh wait, nevermind.

I thought I was reading a headline from ten years ago.
Somebody call bullshit on this repetitive storyline.
Does Marvel have three primary stories that they reintroduce every fifty issues?
What's the next headline? A Punisher/Captain America crossover? We haven't had one of those lately.
Uhhh.. Wow! I guess Marvel got nothing let in the well. First X-men Avengers now this. Way to go Marvel.
Damn Marvel...surely the last Spidey/DD/Punisher was only a year ago right? Also, it's been less than 6 months since the last Spidey-specific event.
This is the bullshit that's driving people away from superhero comics. It's like the lessons of the 90s have been totally forgotten. Event followed by crossover followed by event followed by crossover followed by event followed by crossover. PLEASE MAKE IT STOP. Who else besides 40 year old fanboy dweebs (who are prepared to subsidise any old shit that features their childhood favourites) can afford to buy all of this?
AvX is their final chance with me and a lot of other fans. I'm waiting for trade because if they screw it up as badly as it looks like they're going to then I am not spending my hard earned cash on that crap.
You know who comes out of this as the big winner? Image.
Thanks for the comment Ed. I have to say, since I have my Dad's old X-Men vs Avengers books that I really don't care to read the sequel. Frankly I read more Image books a month now than I do either of the big two.
