Review: Transformer - More Than Meets The Eye #1

Optimusis dead; Chaos is over and now Transformers opens up two new series: MoreThan Meets the Eye and Robots inDisguise.  I’ve been reluctantto read Transformer because it’s all a dog and pony show lately and nosubstance.  It most likely will continuebecause that’s what selling.

Thebasis of the story is after Optimus's death and Chaos being over and there being no more Decepticonsto worry about.  Ultra Magnus and Rodimusare getting ready to launch to find the Knights of Cybertron.  Rodimus makes a huge speech on how this daywill go down in history.  But it actuallyleaves the Autobots divided those going and those staying.  It jumps around to different characters andstorys.  It also jumps around in the timelinenow and 6 million years in the past.  Thelaunch happens and something goes wrong.

Where do I begin?  Thestory jumps around way too much to follow.  Relieson an old story for one character to makes sense. And why is everybody seemangry at everybody?  There is a lot of angerfor a time of peace.  To top it all offthe art kills me, it’s wrong for Transformers. It’s more of cartoonish style not mechanical. It like they are trying toohard to make the robots appearance humanoid. It’s hard to even recognize each character from one another.  The cover art would work thru the book but it’snot like that at all.

Not worththe price on the cover even if the cover is the only good thing but I can stillpick it apart.  Jumps around too much andit’s hard to read when the art doesn’t fit. What can I say let’s hope Transformers can die and get a restart theydeserve with good stories not recycled and art the show what they are.

Score: 1/5

Rodimus wolverine?

Damn! I was hoping to give this a try for the reason that the art in the cover looks great. But if the inside art is that bad. I am not going to give it a try.

I stopped reading this book due to the art. If you're going to tell a serious story then make sure it doesn't look like a cancelled kids cartoon show.

Wow, I just read this book and I couldn't believe how sad it made me. From the story to the coloring--this was another waste of the Transformer name.
