The Other Shoe Drops: DC Solicits Changes

Well the day everyone that knows anything about DC Comics or the comic industry in general finally happened. After months of press and wide spread coverage, the creative team shake ups have finally come! Hey they almost made it six months, way to go DC! I'm proud of you guys and your ability to make it look like you have everything under control. Frankly if DC is the top dog and their company looks like this it makes you wonder what the hell is going on at Marvel. Will the big two finally fall and make way for a new generation of comics? Being that I have a full time job that pays my bills and surprise, surprise it's not Comic Bastards (one day though with your help) I'm not going to sit here dig through DC's blog like Bleeding Cool did give you the complete list. If you really care click on the Bleeding Cool link. I will however go over the shake ups I find to be "major."

Surprise, surprise this asshole is still working

The first being that Ron Marz was booted from Voodoo for a "new direction." I find this strange that of all the books laced with sexism that Marz was fired. Too bad he left Witchblade already huh? The other two shake ups are Jesus Saiz off of Birds of Prey with Javier Pina taking over. You may remember Pina from Soldier Zero from Boom! Studios. Pina's art is good, but his action and character panels always lacked detail so I'm curious how this will turn out. Also it seems as if Mister Terrific is getting a big shake up as well which sucks because as cheesy as that is I really like it just the way it is. Really all of these shake ups have me wondering if we'll ever have long stay creative teams at DC again outside of their big guns, and even then it seems limited to the writers only.
